Two Odia films and a Hindi film with setting in Odisha have been the entrants in the screening for selection of films for Indian Panorama section of the International Film Festival of India (IFFI).
The 46th edition of the festival will be held from November 20 to 30 at Goa.
The list of movies includes Pahadara luha directed by Sabyasachi Mohapatra, Adi Bhumi directed by Satyabrata Dwibedy and Tulasi Apa directed by Amiya Pattnaik. While Adibhumi is made in Hindi, others two films are in Odia.
The story of Adi Bhumi revolves around hypocritical latches within the policy created deliberately to facilitate vested interest. The core theme of the film is unfair distribution of resources resulting in imbalanced socio-economic growth. Manoj Mishra, lipi, Nimisha lumba, Mangal, Anil Dhir and Saumen Pujhari are in the lead characters.
Tulasi Apa presented by AP Productions has in the star cast lochani Bag, Premanjan Parida, Mamata Panda, Sujit Paikray and Choudhury BikasDas. Amiya Patnaik is the director of the movie and the film was produced by Anupam Patnaik. Tulasi Apa film is a biopic on social activist Tulasi Munda, which encapsulates the essence of her life,
enumerates her struggle and achievements.
Pahadra luha directed by Sabyasachi Mohapatra revolves around the sorrows and suffering of Paraja tribe in Koraput. The film stars Swati Ray, Soumen Pujari and lochani Bag in lead.
