As many as 1,425 police officers of Chhattisgarh have been trained at the State Police Academy at Chandkhuri in the year 2014, an official statement said on Friday. located near the State capital Raipur, Chandkhuri-based Academy has trained these officers in 12 different training sessions from January 2014 to December 2014.
The officers included newly-recruited Deputy Superintendents of Police, Subedaars, Platoon Commanders, constables and Indian Police Service officers. It may be mentioned here that Chhattisgarh Police Academy started in 20005 and it provides basic and Pre-Promotion Courses’ training.
Two batches of Deputy Superintendents of Police were given nine-months’ basic training at the Academy in the calendar year 2014. It includes 83 Deputy Superintendents of Police. Thirty-nine Subedaars and 55 Platoon Commanders had been given nine-months’ basic training at the Academy. Newly -appointed 200 constables were also given training at the Academy.
Two IPS-cadre officers have also taken induction-courses at the Chandkhuri Academy. A three-day seminar was also held on the ‘Crimes Against Women’. Thirty-three officers took part in the seminar.
Practical training is imparted in weapons’-free art of war, weapons art of war, swimming, Yoga, sports and games and to increase physical stamina. Apart from this law and Order training, VVIP security aspects are imparted here. Gender sensitisation session is also held at the Academy. During training character build-up, self-discipline and Human Rights and finer points of law are taught at the Academy.
