Tiwari turns villain

Anant Tiwari tells Sangeeta Yadav that he hopes to break all stereotypes in his latest film, Dhishkiyaon. Tiwari plays a villain for the first time

Anand Tiwari is as versatile as versatile could get. From playing a romeo in What The Fish, a boy next door in Aisha, a drug addict in Mumbai Meri Jaan, a newsreader in Oscar winning movie Slumdog Millionaire and an innocent brother in Go Goa Gone, no matter how small or big the role was, Anand Tiwari has always done it with sheer dedication.

In 2014, Tiwari wants to test unknown waters with his latest film Dhishkiyaon  where he plays a character with negative shades. Produced by Shilpa Shetty Kundra Dhishkiyaon is an action thriller.

“I am quite nervous about this one. I play the role of bad boy called Rocky Ch***a. He is an eccentric man who commits a lot of sins unintentionally. It is the most challenging project for me so far as I have tried to breakaway from the image of a sweet and funny guy. It was difficult but I managed,” Tiwari says.

Dhishkiyaon is also about many other firsts! Prashant Narayanan (who played the role of an eunuch in Murder 2) is debuting as the music composer of this film and Ayesha Khanna, a costume designer by profession, is being launched as a heroine.

Tiwari, who met with a bike accident in 2012 that put him on bed rest for months, says that shooting for action scenes was not a tough task.

“I injured my ligament during that accident and was not able to perform hardcore stunts. Director Sanamjit Singh knew about this condition and never put any pressure on me. When it came to stunts he let me take the final call,” Tiwari tells you.

The movie is all set for a February release also stars Harman Baweja, Prashant Narayanan and Aditya Pancholi in the lead. According to a buzz,  Dhishkiyaon revolves around the life and times of the underworld in Mumbai.
