A popular show on Star Plus, Saath Nibhana Saathiya has taken a leap of eight years and the female protagonist Gopi Bahu is seen in a new avatar. Simply dressed, Gopi will be seen as an art and craft teacher for which she gave some shots at the city streets.

Notably, the shooting that began two weeks back is scheduled to get over on February 18. The team of the daily soap has taken some shots at Mianl Residency and International Public School Hoshangabad Road premises on Wednesday and Thursday.

They are currently shooting at The International Public School and Devoleena is having a gala time shooting with the kids.She has also given shots with the kids of The Sanskar Valley School in the initial days of shooting schedule and there also kids enjoyed Devoleena’s company.

According to our sources, “The makers wanted to give a fresh, new perspective to the show and hence the decision to take a leap and Gopi's transformation happened. Devoleena will no longer be seen as the saree clad, shy Gopi bahu but will now take things in her own hands and will be seen as a strong woman who will write her own destiny. She will be seen in smart salwar kameez outfits mostly pastel in shade and her make up too will be kept simple,” adds our source.

The leap of eight years is being aired on television from Monday where one can spot the locations very clearly. Devoleena Bhattacharjee said, “I am very happy with the response we get. In a word I am overwhelmed with the love of my and serial’s fans. So we are now ready to shoe them a big change in our serial. Every character is changed and has become more important at their place.”

Elaborating further about her character, she said, “My character is of a strong single mother, who still remembers and loves her Modi Parivar.”
