Pandit Bharti Bandhu presents vocal recital at Jagriti

Under the programme ‘Jagriti’, Indira Gandhi Rashtriya Manav Sangrahalaya organised a Kabir Gayan on Friday. In the programme, noted Sufi and Kabir Gayan singer Padma Shree Pandit Bharti Bandhu gave the presentation of vocal recital at Indoor Auditorim, Veethi Sankul of Manav Sangrahalaya.

The chief guest of the programme was Pramod Jain, IAS (Joint Secretary, Ministry of Culture, Govt of India). He inaugurated the programme by lighting the lamp and honouring Bharti Bandhu. On this occasion, Arun Kumar Shrivastava (Director, IGRMS) and BK Chatterjee (Administrative Officer, IGRMS) was especially present. 

Under the leadership of Pandit Swami GCD Bharti performed ‘Kabir Gayan’ starting with song ‘Man laga mera yaar fakiri me’.

The next performance was ‘Ram gadi wale zaraa’ the audience was enthralled with this performance. The third performance was the famour Kabiri song ‘More naina me Ram rang chahe raha ho’. The Sufi and Kabir Gayaki evening concluded with a Bhajan ‘Bhajan me lage rehna Bhai’. The team had Gopi Kishan Bharti, Pawasanand Bharti (with Khanjeri) and CV Vachaspati Bharti (with Manjira) as co-singers and as musicians like Tabla player Vivekanand Bharti and Sanidhya Bharti played Ghungroo.

Padamshree Bharti Bandhu received his elementary education in music from his father Swami Vidyadhar Gaina Bharti who also happens to be his first Spiritual Guru. After that the regular systematic training in classical music called “Gharanedar Talim” including playing the harmonium, singing Ghazal, Thumri and Dadra learnt from Ustad Ashiq Ali Khan Saheb Sarangi nawaz of Kirana Gharana. Then learnt sufi music known as mahfil-e-sama from Ustad Haji Idd Ali Shah Chishti for fifteen years.

Bharti Bandhu is famous and renowned Kabir Gayaks Singing Kabir Gayan in their own special style has earned special recognition.
