Chhattisgarh’s first international standard ‘Astro Turf Hockey Stadium’ built at an estimated cost of `22 crore here is all set for a grand opening on Monday.
This was the second key international standard sports infrastructure envisioned by Chief Minister Raman Singh which was built by the State Government after the International Cricket Stadium came up at an estimated cost of `100 crore at Parsada village in Naya Raipur.
The cricket stadium also held an IPl match in 2013 after the facilities were found by its organisers to be of international standards.The new hockey stadium in Rajnandgaon district headquarters, spreading over a sprawling nine-and-a-half acres of land, would be inaugurated by Governor Shekhar Dutt on Monday at 11.05 am in the presence of Chief Minister Raman Singh.
