Indian Navy's sea hawk to be on permanent display

A sea hawk fighter plane of Indian Navy would be very soon the pride of Raipur city. The Ministry of Defence (MoD) has provided clearance to put a sea hawk fighter plane for permanent public display in the city, Raipur City Mayor Kiranmayee Nayak informed here on Wednesday.

The Mayor said that the sea hawk plane would be source of inspiration especially for youths. The plane would be on permanent display at Tatibandh Chowk. A letter of consent in this connection from Assistant Chief Naval Staff (Air) of Indian Navy was received in Mayor’s office on Wednesday. The letter was dispatched by MoD dated July 31, 2014, Nayak said.

The RMC officials have been directed to contact Western Naval Command, Mumbai for further action, she informed. Expressing happiness over accepting the request of providing a sea hawk, Nayak said the plane would inspire youth to join Indian Navy and serve the nation.

Notably a Vijayant Tank of Indian Army has already been installed at Ayurvedic College Gate Chowk. Apart from the tank, a MIG-21 fighter plane has also been placed for permanent public display at garden before the RMC office. likewise two artillery guns have also been placed at the gates of RMC office.

 The Mayor has ordered the officials to contact office of Assistant Chief of Naval Staff (Air) at New Delhi and quickly get the rest of formalities completed soon, so that people of Raipur may be able to see the aircraft.
