The brawl started when a large number of villagers marched towards the Bhupati Bhawan when they came to know that Sanjay and his second wife Amita were reaching Amethi from lucknow. Sanjay and Amita had to appear in court on Monday in connection with the ongoing row. Sanjay’s son Anant Vikram Singh apprehended that Sanjay might attempt to enter the Bhupati Bhawan with Amita and so villagers assembled in a huge number around the Bhupati Bhawan.

The cops handling the law and order situation attempted to stop the surge of villagers and in the process they locked horn. later some from the mob opened fire killing the police constable. Sanjay Singh alleged his first wife Garima for inciting Anant for Rs20 crore. On the other hand, Garima reiterated that she will never permit Amita to enter the Bhupati Bhawan.
