State Government has added six new castes in the Chhattisgarh Other Backward Classes and removed the parenthesis (interruption of continuity) of 16 castes from the class groups of castes.
The tribal and scheduled caste development department has issued three separate notifications in this regard. Officers of the department here on Thursday said that six new castes of other backward class castes of Chhattisgarh – Thanapati, Halwai (Guriya), Gabel, Chhudihar, Bind (Beend) and Jhora have been included in the OBC list.
In the list of OBC castes, along with the castes of Bairagi and Vishnav, Thanapati has been included in serial number 3. Similarly, Harwai, Guriya included along with Bhattiyara in serial number 16; Gabel has been included with Kurami, Kurmar, Kunabi, Kunbi, Kurmi, Patidar Kulmi, Kulmi, Kulambi, Kurmvanshi, Chandrakar, Chandranahu, Chandnahu, Channahu, Kumbhi, Gavail, Gamail and Sirvi in serial number 39 and in serial number 87 (10), Chudihar has been included along with Mahihar.
Besides, new serial numbers 94 and 95 has been added to the list of OBC castes. Bind, Beend in serial number 94 and Jhora in serial number 95 have been included as new castes.
As per the notification issued by the tribal and scheduled caste development department, parenthesis placed on the sub castes entered in the Chhattisgarh OBC castes list serial number 01, 03, 05, 12, 23, 25, 32, 33(A), 33 (B), 34, 38, 39, 42, 45, 51 and 59 has been removed and semicolon has been added in place of that.
The castes, the parenthesis of which have been removed are Yadav, Gwari, Raut, Vaishnav, Chourasiya, Batham, Vithiya, Jalaranlu, Gadariya, Pal, Baghel, Devangan, lingayat, Swarnakar, Kushwaha, Shakya, Mourya, Saini, Hardiha Marar, Bhaddari, Prajapati, Kulami, Kulmi, Kulambi, Gamail, Jaiswal, Sen, Savitha, Usrete, Shrivas, Thath, Sahu, Rathore and Thanwar.
In a circular issued by the department, Chhattisgarh Secondary Education Board has been authorized to make necessary amendment in the caste mentioned in the mark-sheet of students, the parenthesis of whose castes have been removed.
