The Mahurat of Odia film Bhaunri-The Sinking Reality was held here recently, The movie is being produced by Atis Kumar Rout under the banner of Ritu Priya Productions and directed by Sudhansu Sahoo.
The story revolves around a tribal boy who becomes a Maoist. According to the director, the film is not a regular commercial one.
Arindam and Bengali actress Biditia are in the lead roles while Mihir Das, Surya Mohanty, Monoj Mishra, Bijay Patnaik comprise the rest of the cast. Ratanakar Rout has penned the story while the screenplay and dialogues are written by Dilip Choudhary.
Avijit Majumdar has done the lyrics of Nimai Mohanty while choreography is by SK Muralidharan and art by Budha Moharana.
Sudhansu Sahoo earlier directed the Odia film Swyamsiddha based on the Mao revolution in Odisha which was showcased in Indian Panorama in 2010. While the entire shooting of Swayamsiddha was held in Koraput, the whole of Bhaunri-The Sinking Reality will also be shot in this southern district.
