A 21 year old mother died hours after her normal delivery today in the Labour Room of the MMCH Daltonganj.
Her baby boy who weighed 2.7 kgs is fine.
The deceased identified as Pushpa Kumari who hailed from Nawa Jaipur location under the Paton block had her maiden delivery today which ended up in her death. Her acute anemic condition might have hastened her death said sources in the MMCH Daltonganj.
Civil surgeon Palamu Dr Anil Kumar said "Pushpa Kumari was brought in to the labour room little over 5 am this morning. She had a normal delivery past 6 am in the morning today."
She died well past 10 am today.
Her blood count was extremely poor. It was 6.6Gm of hemoglobin.
Two units of B+ group of blood were arranged for her.
One unit of blood was transfused where after her condition deteriorated fast and she died.
The Labour Room personnel had persuaded the family to take her down to some higher centre but the family just dilly dallied.
Her family didn't make any hullabaloo over her death and took the body home at Nawa Jaipur location without making any demand for the post mortem at all, said the hospital manager Sunit Srivastav.
The MMCH arranged Mokch Vahan for the transportation of the body from the MMCH Daltonganj to Nawa Jaipur location, added the hospital manager.
