Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) state president and Khajuraho MP Vishnu Dutt Sharma inaugurated the Prime Minister Jan Aushadhi Kendra at Red Cross Hospital on the occasion of Jan Aushadhi Diwas on Friday. Addressing the gathering, he praised Prime Minister Narendra Modi for his relentless efforts in uplifting the underprivileged, calling him the “messiah of the poor.”

Sharma stated that prior to PM Modi’s leadership in 2014, previous governments failed to focus on welfare schemes for the poor. However, PM Modi, having witnessed poverty firsthand, made a firm commitment to transforming the lives of the underprivileged. As a result, today, initiatives like Ayushman Bharat Yojana provide free medical treatment up to ?5 lakh, benefiting even senior citizens above 70 years.

Emphasizing PM Modi’s vision of a healthy and developed India, Sharma asserted that “a healthy population will lead India to achieve the goal of becoming a developed nation by 2047.” He also highlighted various welfare schemes aimed at the upliftment of women and youth, which are benefiting people on a large scale.

Sharma revealed that 15,000 Jan Aushadhi Kendras across the country are currently offering generic medicines at 30% to 80% lower prices. A medicine that costs ?5,000 in the market is available for just ?500 at Jan Aushadhi Kendras. The stores currently stock 2,027 WHO and GMP-certified generic medicines, and their reach has expanded significantly, with annual sales growing from ?2 crore to ?7.5 crore.

In Madhya Pradesh, there are 450 Jan Aushadhi Kendras, and the government is set to open 89 more stores in tribal blocks on April 14, marking the birth anniversary of Dr. B.R. Ambedkar. Sharma urged people to adopt generic medicines and emphasized that BJP MPs, MLAs, and medical cell workers will meet doctors to encourage the prescription of these affordable medicines.

BJP State General Secretary and MLA Bhagwandas Sabnani also addressed the gathering, reiterating the party’s commitment to affordable healthcare. The event was attended by State Media Incharge Ashish Usha Agarwal, Madhya Pradesh Red Cross Society Chairman Dr. Gagan Kohle, and General Secretary Ramendra Singh.

During an interaction with the media, Vishnu Dutt Sharma strongly criticized Samajwadi Party leader Abu Azmi, stating that "this is the land of Lord Ram, Lord Krishna, Maharana Pratap, and Chhatrapati Shivaji. People like Abu Azmi have no right to stay in this country.” He accused Azmi and others of attempting to undermine India's culture and dignity, asserting that the public has consistently rejected such individuals.

Sharma also questioned the silence of Congress leaders Rahul Gandhi and Priyanka Gandhi, asking them to clarify whether they consider Mughal ruler Aurangzeb as great. He reiterated that appeasement politics will not work in India and that the law will take its course against those who threaten national integrity.
