A nursing student lost her life in a road accident in Bhopal, while two others were seriously injured after their scooter rammed into a divider on Sunday; the injured student died during treatment on Monday.
The incident took place when the three students were returning from the Church after praying. The speeding scooty suddenly went out of control and collided with the divider.
The incident is said to have taken place on Sunday night. All three were rushed to the hospital with the help of an ambulance, where one student died during treatment on Monday early morning, while the treatment of two others is going on. Gandhi Nagar police has registered a case and started investigation.
ASI Praveen Singh said that Shani Mathew was a fourth year BSc Nursing student at Chirayu Medical College and was doing internship.
On Sunday evening, she went to the church on Jail Road with her friends, Sendal Sona and Soril. While returning from there, their scooty collided with the divider.
At present, it is not clear how the scooty got imbalanced. To find out the real reasons for the accident, the police will check the footage of CCTV cameras installed around the spot.
All three students are from Kerala. They studied together in Chirayu Medical College and lived in the hostel there. The body was handed over to the family after the post-mortem on Monday in the presence of acquaintances.
