Dera chief Ram Rahim gets 21-day furlough
Chandigarh: Dera Sacha Sauda sect chief Gurmeet Ram Rahim Singh, who is serving a 20-year jail sentence, was granted furlough on Wednesday for 21 days by the Haryana government. He will stay in his Sirsa dera, the second time since his 2017 conviction. In his previous paroles or furloughs, he was not allowed to stay in Sirsa but was permitted to reside at the Shah Satnam Ashram in Barnava in Uttar Pradesh’s Baghpat district. This is the 13th furlough given to the Dera Sacha Sauda chief. Earlier in January, he was granted a 30-day parole. His release is said to coincide with the Dera’s foundation day celebrations. It was founded on April 29, 1948, by Baba Shah Mastana. This year marks its 77th anniversary. Ram Rahim is currently lodged at the high-security Sunaria jail in Rohtak.
Haryana & Israel present joint vision for Agricultural innovation in Horticulture
Chandigarh: Haryana and Israel have presented a joint vision for agricultural innovation in the field of horticulture. A key meeting took place between Haryana Agriculture Minister Shyam Singh Rana and Agriculture and Food Security Minister, Israel Avi Dichter, at the Indo-Israel Centre of Excellence for Vegetables in Gharaunda (Karnal). This meeting was held a day after both countries signed an agreement and action plan on agricultural cooperation in New Delhi. During the meeting, Avi Dichter emphasized the need for water recycling in view of the issue of water pollution in Haryana. He said that everyone must use polluted water for irrigation. He advised Haryana to explore possibilities in this direction. Dichter also invited Haryana Agriculture Minister Rana, to visit Israel to closely observe the advanced technologies being used in irrigation, seed production, and climate-controlled farming.

Chandigarh: Haryana Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini on Wednesday said the Central and State Governments are working round the clock to provide facilities to common people. Public welfare schemes are being prepared keeping in mind the problems and issues of the poor. All the people of the society are being uplifted by these schemes. The Chief Minister was speaking at a programme organized at a private palace in Ladwa late in the evening on Wednesday. Earlier, the Chief Minister offered floral tributes to the picture of Bharat Mata and inaugurated the programme by lighting the lamp. After this, the Chief Minister interacted with the workers and people of Ladwa constituency. During this, the residents also put forth their problems. The Chief Minister said that the problem of each and every person will be resolved.
