Four persons were killed and five others injured after a multi-utility vehicle (MUV) overturned late Friday night in Jhabua district. The accident occurred around 10 p.m. near Bolasa village, approximately 48 kilometres from the district headquarters, Raipuriya police station in-charge JR Barde confirmed. The vehicle was en route to a hospital in Sarangi when the mishap occurred.
Among the deceased is a woman, and two of the injured are reported to be in critical condition. While three victims died on the spot, one succumbed to injuries during treatment. The critically injured have been referred to Dahod in neighbouring Gujarat for advanced care.
The victims were identified as Nan Singh Bhabor (43), Parmu Hatila (30), Remabai Hatila (40), and Datu Hatila (25), a resident of Dhar who had reportedly consumed pesticide and was being transported to the hospital when tragedy struck. Preliminary investigation suggests the vehicle overturned due to high speed or imbalance, although official confirmation is awaited.
