A 38-year-old police personnel died in a tragic hit-and-run incident late Thursday night in Parwalia, Bhopal. The deceased, posted as a driver with the Additional Director General (ADG) of Intelligence and originally part of the MT branch, was returning to the city after visiting a relative when the accident occurred.
According to police, around 11 p.m., the victim’s motorbike was hit by a speeding, unidentified vehicle. The impact caused the motorcycle to crash into a roadside pole, leaving him critically injured. Locals rushed him to a nearby hospital, but he succumbed to his injuries in the early hours of Friday.
Parwalia police have launched an investigation to trace the unidentified vehicle involved. CCTV footage from nearby routes is being analyzed to identify any suspicious vehicles. Station in-charge Rohit Kumar confirmed that efforts to track down the accused driver are underway. The deceased was the eldest of five siblings and had been the primary breadwinner for his family.
In a separate incident in Aishbagh, a 29-year-old labourer allegedly committed suicide by hanging himself late Friday night. The deceased, identified as Akash, lived in lane number four and had returned home around 10 p.m.
After having dinner with his wife, Akash asked her to make tea. While she was in the kitchen, he used a sari tied to a swing made for their one-and-a-half-year-old daughter to hang himself. When his wife returned with tea, she found him hanging. Neighbors helped bring his body down and immediately informed the police.
