CM honored with the Diamond State Award in New Delhi

Tuesday, 25 March 2025 | Staff Reporter | Bhopal

Chief Minister Mohan Yadav stated that under the able leadership of Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi, the Madhya Pradesh government, in the past one and a quarter years, has established new dimensions of development while embracing its heritage, which brings them satisfaction. The state government is continuously working for the welfare of the poor, youth, women, and farmers. For example, the long-pending payments to workers of the Hukumchand Mill in Indore have been completed, and based on cordial relations with other states, the 20-year-old Parbati-Kalisindh-Chambal river interlinking project is also taking shape. Under the Prime Minister’s Housing Scheme, around 8.5 lakh houses in urban areas and nearly 36 lakh houses in rural areas have already been handed over to the beneficiaries. Chief Minister Dr. Yadav mentioned that development can only move forward by staying connected to our roots. He expressed these thoughts during the 'Diamond States Summit' event organized by a private news channel in Delhi on Sunday.

Chief Minister Dr. Yadav said that 2000 years ago, Emperor Vikramaditya ran the administration with valor, justice, and generosity, liberated the land from foreign invaders, and established good governance, which is the glorious heritage of the state. The introduction of the Vikram Samvat is part of this illustrious tradition. Emperor Vikramaditya waived the people's debts and provided them with interest-free loans. To celebrate the various dimensions of his valor, the state government will organize a grand play, "Vikramaditya Mahanaatya," in Delhi from April 12 to 14.

The Chief Minister further said that Ujjain is the city of Mahakal and time. The city is tilted at 23.6 degrees, making it the best place for time calculation. To make Ujjain the world’s "Mean Time," a Vedic clock has been established, which will restore India’s glorious tradition of knowledge.

Chief Minister Dr. Yadav emphasized that the state government is committed to integrating high ideals and ethics into the lifestyle of the people. Religious tourism is being promoted in the state. The Ashram of Maharshi Sandipani is being developed as a pilgrimage site, and the importance of education is being highlighted through the New Education Policy. Ideal Gokul villages are being created, associated with Lord Krishna, with the goal of increasing the state's share in the country's milk production from 9% to 20%.

The Chief Minister also mentioned that in 1956, the support price for wheat was Rs 94 per quintal, and in 2002-03 it was Rs 600. Today, it has been increased to Rs 2600. In 2002-03, the state's budget was only Rs 23,000 crore, which has now risen to Rs 4.21 lakh crore. Madhya Pradesh offers the cheapest electricity in the country, which is even being supplied to the Delhi Metro.

He stated that the state government is taking every possible step to make the state capable and prosperous. During the event, Chief Minister Dr. Yadav was honored with the 'Diamond State Award.'
