The AIIMS Bhopal is organizing a blood donation drive from April 11 to 14, 2025, to commemorate the birth anniversary of Bharat Ratna Dr. Bhimrao Ambedkar. Dedicated to the architect of the Indian Constitution and a pioneer of social justice and equality, this initiative is being conducted at the AIIMS Bhopal Blood Bank. The objective is to raise public awareness about the life-saving importance of voluntary blood donation and to respectfully honor Dr. Ambedkar's spirit of humanitarian service and upliftment of the underprivileged.
The campaign was inaugurated on April 11, 2025, by Executive Director Prof. (Dr.) Ajai Singh. On this occasion, Prof. (Dr.) Shashank Purwar (Officiating Medical Superintendent), Dr. Arun Kokane (Professor and Head, Department of Community and Family Medicine), Dr. Santosh Wakode (Head, Department of Physiology), Dr. Avinash Thakare, Dr. Prashant Chaware, along with faculty members, students, staff, Assistant Nursing Superintendents, Senior Nursing Officers, and Nursing Officers of the institute were present. <
During this four-day blood donation drive, faculty members, resident doctors, nursing officers, students, and other staff participated enthusiastically. Their participation powerfully demonstrated the spirit of collective effort toward building a healthy and inclusive society.
On the occasion, Prof. Singh said, "The best way to pay tribute to Babasaheb Dr. Bhimrao Ambedkar is by serving humanity. Blood donation is one such noble act that saves countless lives. Through this camp, AIIMS Bhopal offers a true tribute to Dr. Ambedkar's legacy and reaffirms its commitment to inclusive healthcare and community service."
