Senior Cong leaders rally behind party candidate Dr Gandhi from Patiala

In a display of unwavering solidarity, while brushing aside all differences, senior leaders of the Congress party have rallied behind Dr Dharamvir Gandhi, throwing their full support behind his candidacy for the Lok Sabha MP seat in Patiala constituency.

 

Punjab Pradesh Congress Committee (PPCC) president Amrinder Singh Raja Warring on Thursday marked the initiation of Dr Gandhi's election campaign, with prominent Patiala Congress leaders committing to ensure a decisive victory for the party.

 

Warring, addressing the media, underscored the party's unequivocal backing for Dr Dharamvir Gandhi, emphasizing the critical need to uphold secularism, democracy, and the constitutional principles laid down by Dr Bhim Rao Ambedkar. He stressed the importance of unity within the party ranks, transcending individual interests for the collective goal of securing a brighter future for the nation.

 

“Our solidarity stands firm against the authoritarian regime of the incumbent Prime Minister,” declared Warring, reaffirming the party's unwavering support for both Rahul Gandhi and Dr Gandhi.

 

In response, Dr Gandhi expressed gratitude to the assembled leaders, acknowledging the historical role of the Congress party in advancing the nation's prosperity. He called for a united front against the climate of fear and apprehension fostered by the BJP-led Government, framing the upcoming election as a pivotal moment in the nation's democratic journey. “Under the current administration, every segment of society faces challenges," remarked Dr Gandhi, positioning the Congress Party as the bulwark against authoritarianism and injustice.

 

The press conference witnessed the prominent presence of senior Congress leaders from Patiala, including former Finance Minister and former Mandi Board chairperson Lal Singh, former Minister Brahm Mohindra, former Minister Randeep Singh Nabha, former MLA Hardial Singh Kamboj, former MLA Madan Lal Jalalpur, former MLA Rajinder Singh, senior Congress leader from Dera Bassi Deepinder Singh Dhillon, senior Congress leader from Sanaur Harinderpal Singh Harry Mann, senior leader from Patiala Urban Vishnu Sharma, district president Harwinder Singh Khanoura, Patiala Urban Congress president Naresh Duggal, Mahila Congress president Gursharan Kaur Randhawa, and PCC spokesperson Sandeep Singla.

 

Warring reiterated the party's commitment to addressing the concerns of Punjab and the nation, promising to incorporate state-specific issues into the party's manifesto. He assured the electorate of Congress's unwavering dedication to the welfare of Punjab and the nation at large, signaling a united front in support of Dr Gandhi's candidacy.
