School hours have been changed to 7:30-11:30 a.m. for pre-secondary and from 11:30 a.m.-4:30 p.m. for higher secondary as the mercury crossed 40 °C in Chhattisgarh, an official communiqué said on Wednesday.
Many parents and organizations had demanded a change in school timings.
The National Students Union of India had also sent a memorandum to the Raipur District Education Officer on Tuesday demanding a change in school timings.
