Senior SP, Ranchi had misbehaved with Ranchi Press Club's executive member and Nakshatra TV's senior journalist Saurabh Shukla a few days ago. During Prime Minister Narendra Modi's Ranchi visit, Saurabh Shukla was doing news coverage and SSP misbehaved and snatched his mic ID.
Condemning the incident strongly, a delegation of Ranchi Press Club met Jharkhand DGP Ajay Kumar Singh and Jharkhand's Chief Electoral Officer K Ravi Kumar and demanded action from them. In this regard, Press Club's President Surendra Lal Soren said that the misbehaviour done by SSP with a senior journalist on the occasion of World Press Freedom Day is unfortunate, which the Press Club strongly condemns and while demanding action from Jharkhand's DGP and Chief Election Commissioner, it also demands that the state police should behave decently with the journalists.
Considering the demands of the delegation, the DGP and the Chief Election Commissioner have assured the delegation to investigate the matter and take action. Those who submitted the memorandum mainly included the club's president Surendra Lal Soren, secretary Amarkant, vice-president Dharmendra Giri, treasurer Kuber Singh, executive members Saurabh Shukla, Chandan Bhattacharya, former secretary of the club and senior journalist Akhilesh Singh and Aman Mishra.
