PIMR hosts ‘UG Jotsav', DAVV team clinches Basketball title

UG Jotsav, an exciting sports event aimed at promoting a healthy balance between academic excellence and physical fitness among students, took place at the Prestige Institute of Management and Research (PIMR) UG campus. Teams from various academic institutions from across the city enthusiastically participated in this sports extravaganza, wherein students showcased their sporting skills and acumen in various indoor and outdoor games, including basketball, volleyball, kabaddi, chess, carrom, badminton, table tennis, cricket, football, and volleyball.

Nine teams competed in an intense match to claim victory in the basketball 3x3 showdown. In a thrilling finale, Team BULLS from Devi Ahilya Vishwavidyalaya emerged victorious, while Team Prestige remained the runner-up.

The prize distribution ceremony was graced by Mir Ranjan Negi, a renowned Indian hockey player, Dr. Sudhira Chandel, Director of Physical Education at DAVV, Dr. Mahendra Kumar Mishra, Sports Officer at GICC Indore; and Dr. Kripa Kant Soni, Secretary of the Karate Association of India, respectively.

The winners and runner-ups were given away prizes by the guests. The guests commended the leadership of Col. Dr. S. Raman Iyer, Director of PIMR, and sports coach Sunil Kumar Biltharia for their dedication to promoting a well-rounded student experience.
