The Kerala police on Wednesday arrested a man, Samuel Badamajhi, in Kandhamal district for allegedly killing his girlfriend in Kerala.

Badamajhi is a resident of Rangapanga village under the Kotgarh police station in the district.

As per reports, Samuel was married, but he developed a love relationship with Ritika Sahu in Kandhamal. Both of them went to Kerala in search of livelihood. However, Ritika somehow came to know that Samuel is married. The incident led to an argument between both of them.

Suddenly, Samuel lost his cool and allegedly stabbed Ritika with a knife. Subsequently, Samuel returned to Kandhamal leaving Ritika in a critical condition. Later, she succumbed to her injuries.

Upon being informed about the incident, Ritika’s father went to Kerala and filed a complaint in this connection at the local police station. Based on the complaint, the Kerala Police started an investigation into the incident and came to know that Samuel returned to Odisha after committing the crime.

With help from the Kotgarh police, Kerala police conducted a raid at Samuel’s father-in-law’s house, where he was hiding. The accused was subsequently arrested. Further investigation into the incident was on.
