Truck driver and cleaner were burnt to death after their LPG gas truck tanker overturned in Raisen and turned into a massive ball of fire damaging three huts on the road side and halted traffic at Sultanpur on Raisen road in the afternoon on Sunday.
The fire was so massive that traffic on the highway had to be stopped. There was a long queue of vehicles on both sides of the road. The fire brigade team reached the spot and pacified the fire which took about an hour.
The accident occured on the National Highway near Bari in Sultanpur police station area on Sunday afternoon at around 3 pm. Where the tanker went out of control near Nagin Mod. The tanker caught fire as soon as it overturned. High flames started rising and which engulfed three huts built on the roadside were damaged completely due to the fire. The people present at the spot managed to escape the fire.
As soon as information about the accident was received, police and administration officials also reached the spot.
ASP Kamlesh Kumar said that the fire was so severe that no one was able to reach the tanker for rescue for a long time. In the accident no one nearby got burnt in the accident.
Bari SDOP Aditi Bhavsar said that LPG is written on the tanker. This is a gas tanker, the fire has been brought under control with the help of 7 fire brigades. The tanker was coming from Bhopal. Movement of vehicles has started on the road.
