Lakhma insulted people of Bastar: BJP

Saturday, 30 March 2024 | Staff Reporter | RAIPUR

The Bharatiya Janata Party on Friday charged that Congress’ Lok Sabha candidate from Bastar and former Chhattisgarh Minister Kawasi Lakhma had insulted the people of Bastar with his comment on his party's ticket to him.

The BJP Tribal Wing chief of Chhattisgarh, Vikas Markam, said that Lakhma by stating that “he demanded bride for his son but he himself was made the groom” has proved that he had lost mental balance.

Markam also alleged that Congress had fielded Lakhma as a candidate knowing that he had a hand in the Jheeram massacre of 2012 by Naxalites which killed top Congress leaders.

Sensing his defeat, Lakhma was now making such absurd statements, Markam said.
