After being in depression for six months 72-year-old Nadir Rashid  chairman of Bhopal's Hotel Jahannuma Palace, committed suicide by shooting himself. The incident is being reported around 9.30 am on Wednesday.

Nadir Rashid shot himself in the jaw in the bathroom of his home Shyamala Kothi in Nadir Colony in Shyamala Hills area.

Police received information about the incident at 10 am. Senior police officers and relatives of Nadir Rashid reached his house. Police sent the body to Hamidia Hospital for postmortem.

Nadir Rasheed has two sons, Zafar and Faza and aas a daughter, who lives abroad.

As soon as the information was received, the police reached Shyamala Kothi, the house of Nadir Rashid.

Deceased was in depression for six months due to which he hence committed suicide.

Shyamala Hills Police Station TI R.V. Singh Vimal said that Nadir was suffering from BP, sugar and prostate problems for a long time. He had unbearable pain while urinating. Due to this disease he had fallen into depression. Preferred to live in solitude for the last 6 months. Interaction with relatives was also reduced.

On Wednesday morning, he went to the attached bathroom of his bedroom in Shyamala Kothi. There he shot him below the jaw with his 275 bore rifle. His employee Shamsher was the first to see him. After this the family informed the police station.

Nadir Rasheed's body was taken to Hamidia Hospital in a private ambulance.

After Nadir Rashid committed suicide, his wife Sonia's health deteriorated. Dr. Moiz Hussain, a family member living on Shyamala Hills, was called to the bungalow.

On coming out of the bungalow, Dr. Moiz said that there are a lot of police inside. Can't say what happened. Such a big incident has happened. It is natural for his wife's health to deteriorate. Gave him medicines.

Nadir was interested in sports. He was fond of playing golf. For the last 6 months, he had also distanced himself from his favorite game, golf. At the time of the incident, both his sons were having breakfast in the second room of Shamla Palace. After hearing the sound of the bullet, he reached his father's house. Where he saw his father's dead body.

Nadir Rashid's funeral procession will be taken out from Shyamala Kothi. The body will be laid to rest at his farm house in  near Neelbad at 5 pm.
