FIR lodged in clash during Ulgulan Rally

Tuesday, 23 April 2024 | PNS | Ranchi

On Sunday, during the Ulgulan Nyaya rally held at Prabhat Tara Maidan in Ranchi, Congress candidate from Palamu KN Tripathi and RJD supporters clashed with each other. There was a fierce fight between the two and chairs were thrown. KN Tripathi's brother was injured in this fight. Tejashwi Yadav was also present on the stage when the fight took place. In the assault case, KN Tripathi's brother Nandagopal Tripathi has lodged an FIR against RJD supporter Prabhu Dayal and others in Dhurva police station.

When the Ulgulan rally started, in front of the stage, RJD supporters who had come from Chatra started raising slogans from the Congress and RJD leadership and demanding that if Chatra is to be won, then the candidate will have to be changed. They were holding placards in their hands and started shouting slogans. KN Tripathi supporters standing nearby, including his brother, started snatching the placards.

After this the matter escalated and fighting started from both sides. When this incident was happening, Bihar's Leader of Opposition and RJD leader Tejashwi Yadav were also present there. RJD supporters in Chatra wanted that an RJD leader should be made the candidate and not an outside leader from Palamu. KN Tripathi had come from Palamu to contest Chatra elections, hence they started creating ruckus demanding to make a local candidate in his place and the matter reached the level of fighting.
