DAV Bokaro Sector 4 students hold bicycle Rally on Earth Day

In a remarkable initiative to ignite environmental consciousness, students from D.A.V. Sector-IV Bokaro took charge to advocate for a greener planet through a unique "cycling campaign." Spearheaded by the school's new  Principal,  Sarbendu Sekhar Kar, the event served as an unprecedented awakening call to action for the city.

On the occasion of Earth Day, the school set a new standard for mass sensitization through an extraordinary global awareness program. The day began with a vibrant "cycle show" featuring illuminating slogans and distributing informative pamphlets, starting from the school campus in the morning. Notably  cycling rally for the first time in Bokaro by any School traversed through key areas of the city including B.R. Ambedkar Chowk, B.G.H., Gandhi Marg, Bokaro Mall, and Sector-IV petrol pump, engaging citizens along the way.

The culmination of the event witnessed a spirited slogan and painting competition at the school, with students from grades VI to XII showcasing their enthusiasm and creativity. Through their artwork, they conveyed a powerful message of environmental preservation. Principal SS  Kar lauded the efforts of the students, emphasizing the importance of restoring our planet to its former glory through judicious resource usage. He highlighted initiatives such as tree planting and promoting recyclable materials as crucial steps towards effecting positive change.

Furthermore, Principal Kar stressed the urgent need for collective action to restore ecosystems, protect biodiversity, and combat climate change. The event resonated well with the theme of Earth Day this year - "Planet Vs. Plastics," underscoring the pressing need to address the global plastic crisis.

The event's resounding success not only showcased the proactive efforts of D.A.V. Sector-IV students but also underscored the importance of collaborative action in safeguarding the future of our planet.Also special appreciation was extended to Sector 4 Police Station and the press media for their invaluable support and contribution to the success of this endeavour.
