Mohali police arrest two for operating interstate arms cartel

Chandigarh: A criminal and his accomplice, who were operating an interstate arms cartel, were arrested and weapons were recovered from them. Director General of Police (DGP) Gaurav Yadav said the Mohali police has arrested Malkeet Singh alias Nawab, a member of the Gopi Ghanshampuria and the Harry Chatha gangs. He was also facing 30 criminal cases, the DGP said. He added that along with Nawab, Gamdoor Singh alias Vicky has also been arrested. “In a major breakthrough, @sasnagarpolice apprehends Malkeet Singh @ Nawab operating an interstate arms cartel along with Gamdoor Singh @ vicky and recovers 6 pistols, 10 live cartridges and 10 pistol magazines from them,” DGP Yadav said in a post on X. “Accused Malkeet Singh @ Nawab is an associate and member of Gopi Ghanshampuria & Harry Chatha Gangs,” he added.

Gurugram 4 cyber criminals held for defrauding people of over Rs 4.5 crore

Gurugram: The Gurugram cyber police have arrested four fraudsters for allegedly duping hundreds of people across the country of over Rs 4.5 crore. Deputy Commissioner of Police (Cyber) Siddhant Jain said four mobile phones and Rs 32000 in cash were recovered from the accused.  He added that after examining these SIM cards and reviewing the data from the Indian Cyber Crime Coordination Center (I4C), it was found that the fraud of about Rs 4.5 crore has been committed by these accused across the country. The accused have been identified as Nitish, resident of Chomu in Rajasthan; Monu from Bhonkarka village; Ravikant from Samastipur, Bihar; and Vikas Kumar from Vaishali district, Bihar, police said. "During the police interrogation, it was revealed that these accused committed fraud by making phone calls to people and cheating them in the name of transferring money online, investing in share market, offering online loans and getting money transferred by pretending to be experts," DCP Jain said. The police said 1,378 complaints and 64 cases are lodged against the accused. Of these, four cases are registered at Cyber Crime police station in Manesar.

Ensure timely and hassle-free payment for farmers' crops: Hry  Administrative Secretary

Chandigarh: The District Administrative Secretary of the Haryana Government Vikas Gupta on Monday accompanied by DC Prashant Panwar, visited the Kaithal additional Grain Market, Kalayat Mandi, and silos. Instructing officials, Gupta emphasized the swift lifting of wheat to prevent congestion in the mandis. During the visit, he also engaged with Aadhtiyas and farmers, attentively addressing their concerns. He said that there must be no laxity in the lifting process, otherwise action will be taken against the concerned transporter and officer as per regulations. Ensuring timely payment for farmers' crops is paramount. Nodal officers are urged to fulfill their duties diligently and maintain vigilance over the procurement procedure. Gupta also personally assessed the moisture content of the crop using a moisture measuring device. He further instructed to ensure cleanliness and provision of basic amenities in the market. Gupta urged Aadhtiyas to extend their full cooperation in the wheat procurement process to mitigate any inconvenience to farmers. During his inspection of the silos, he directed officials to implement measures to reduce waiting times for farmers, ensuring efficient operations.

Hry Right to Service Commission imposes Rs 20,000 fine on Junior Engineer for service delay

Chandigarh: Taking cognizance of a complaint/appeal regarding electricity meter shifting, Haryana Right to Service Commission has imposed a fine of Rs 20,000 on a Junior Engineer of Dakshin Haryana Bijli Vitran Nigam (DHBVN). A spokesperson for the Haryana Right to Service Commission said that under the chairmanship of Chief Commissioner TC Gupta, a hearing was conducted on April 5, 2024, regarding the case involving Kuldeep Singh Nehra, the XEN of Rewari Division under the DHBVN, Jatin Kumar, the SDO of Rewari Sub Division, and Junior Engineer (JE) Surendrer Sharma of Rewari SubDivision. JE Surender Sharma failed to attend the hearing, and the appellant, Saroj Yadav, also did not participate. However, the Commission received a written email from Saroj Yadav expressing gratitude for the intervention of the Haryana Right to Service Commission, acknowledging the assistance received. The Commission has imposed a fine of Rs 20,000 on JE Surender Sharma for service negligence.
