SBI CELEBRATES WORLD HOMOEOPATHY DAY

Bhubaneswar: The State Bank of India, Local Head Office, Bhubaneswar, observed the World Homoeopathy Day on April 10.  The day is observed on the birth anniversary of German physician and father of homoeopathy Samuel Hahnemann. SBI DGM & Circle Development Officer Manoj Kumar Singh felicitated Dr Akshay Kumar Mishra, MD (Homoeopath) of LHO Dispensary on the occasion.

 

EX- GANJAM VP RESIGNS FROM BJP

Brahmapur:  Former Ganjam district BJP vice-president Manoj Patnaik has resigned from primary membership of the saffron party. Patnaik has sent his resignation letter to district president Subash Chandra Sahu. In the letter, Patnaik stated that he started his political career in 1990 by moving throughout the city on his bicycle with the party flag. But now, he is feeling suffocated and wants to get relief from the party bondage.

 

GAJAPATI WILDLIFE TRADERS TO GO ON REMAND

Paralakhemundi: The seven persons arrested in connection with the seizure of five leopard skins and pangolin scales in Gajapati district were forwarded to court. DFO S Anand said the arrested accused would be taken on remand for interrogation to unearth more information about the racket, He said the seized skins would be on animals aged between one to two years. Interestingly, in the census carried out by the Forest Department, no tigers were found in the district.   

 

EX-BEO GETS 3-YR RI FOR GRAFT IN RAYAGADA

Rayagada: The Special Judge, Vigilance, Jeypore on Wednesday sentenced Antaryami Behera, former Block Education Officer (BEO), Gunupur in Rayagada district, to three years’ rigorous imprisonment in a graft case. The court also directed him to pay a fine of Rs 10,000 and in default to undergo to another three months’ imprisonment. Earlier, Vigilance had charge-sheeted Behera for demanding and accepting bribe of Rs 10,000 from a  retired teacher to send his Service Book to the Controller of Accounts, Bhubaneswar for release of his pending dues. The Vigilance would now move the competent authority for stoppage of pension of Behera.
