The Congress candidate from Chhattisgarh’s Raipur Lok Sabha constituency, Vikas Upadhyay, on Tuesday alleged that the ruling BJP misused government machinery during elections and violated the model code of conduct.
In a statement to the media, Upadhyay said the government machinery acted like a puppet of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP).
Upadhyay also sat on a protest in front of the Raipur Collectorate. He said the BJP forced NGOs and social organizations to distribute lemon drinks and cold beverages to garner votes.
All that was happening at the vicinity of polling booths and under the nose of administration but nothing was done to stop the same, he said.
