Bhopal records 42.4 degree Celsius, Damoh was highest at 45 degree

The mercury soared to touch 45 degree celsius in the state for the time in the season; Bhopal recorded 42.4 degree celsius on Tuesday.

The temperature in Damoh reached near 45 degrees. It was the hottest day of the season in Bhopal also. Apart from this, the temperature crossed 43 degrees in Naugaon, Guna, Khandwa, Tikamgarh and Shivpuri.

Amidst the scorching heat, it also rained in Anuppur, Badnawar of Dhar and Chhindwara. Two people died due to lightning in Anuppur and cattle died in Chhindwara.

Voting for Lok Sabha elections was held on Tuesday in Bhopal, Guna, Vidisha, Gwalior, Betul, Bhind, Morena, Rajgarh and Sagar. Here the weather department had predicted intense heat. It has been extremely hot here since morning. Voting also remained slow in the afternoon due to intense heat.

Damoh remained the hottest district so far in the state. A temperature of 44.8 degrees was recorded here. The mercury was recorded at 43 degrees in Shivpuri-Tikamgarh, 43.1 degrees in Khandwa, 43.2 degrees in Guna and 43.4 degrees in Nowgong.

In the big cities, for the first time in the season the temperature in Bhopal was recorded at 42.4 degrees. The temperature was recorded at 40.5 degrees in Indore, 42.6 degrees in Gwalior, 42.1 degrees in Jabalpur and 42.5 degrees Celsius in Ujjain.

Temperatures of 42 degrees or more were recorded in Dhar, Mandla, Khargone, Khajuraho, Umaria, Ratlam, Sidhi, Shajapur and Sagar. The mercury was recorded between 40 to 41.8 degrees Celsius in Narmadapuram, Narsinghpur, Betul, Satna and Raisen. Pachmarhi was the coldest. The temperature here was recorded at 35.8 degrees. It was 36.6 degrees in Malajkhand, 38.2 degrees in Seoni, 39.2 degrees in Rewa and 39.4 degrees in Chhindwara.

 

Meteorologist said, currently a Western Disturbance is active over Iran. At the same time, there are also two cyclonic circulations and trough lines. Due to all this, clouds are also appearing. Thunderstorm conditions will persist on May 8-9 also. Heat wave will also continue.

Two people died due to lightning on Tuesday afternoon in Chatuwa village of Anuppur district, while a woman was seriously injured. He has been admitted to Shahdol District Hospital. People of Baiga community and other villagers of the village had come to attend the wedding ceremony of Kunwar Singh Baiga in the village during which Ranjit Singh (38) Umesh Baiga (19) sitting under a tree was struck by lightning.

In the next 24 hours the heat wave will affect Mandsaur, Neemuch, Ratlam, Ujjain, Jhabua, Dhar, Barwani, Khargone, Khandwa. Whereas, there will be clouds in Chhindwara, Pandhurna, Seoni, Balaghat, Mandla, Dindori, Umaria.

There will be thunderstorms in Indore, Ratlam, Alirajpur, Dhar, Barwani, Khargone, Burhanpur, Khandwa, Harda, Betul, Satna, Rewa, Mauganj, Sidhi, Singrauli, Balaghat, Mandla, Dindori, Anuppur districts in the next two days.
