1st phase campaign to end today

In the first phase of Lok Sabha Elections-2024, the election campaign will stop at 6 pm on April 17 in the 6 Lok Sabha constituencies of Madhya Pradesh where voting is to be held from 7 am to 6 pm on April 19. Voting is to be held in 3 assembly constituencies of Balaghat Lok Sabha constituency Baihar, Lanji and Paraswada only from 7 am to 4 pm, hence election campaigning in these areas will stop at 4 pm on April 17.

Chief Electoral Officer Anupam Rajan has said that there is a provision to stop the election campaign in the Lok Sabha constituency 48 hours before the scheduled end of voting. After the deadline for campaigning ends, persons from outside the area who are not voters in that constituency have to leave that area. An intensive campaign is run for this.
