Bengal Chief Minister continued to rain fire on Prime Minister Narendra Modi, this time calling him a Prachar Babu whose Government was on its way out if the first two phases of polling were any indication.

“The sluggish rate of polling in the first two phases of elections have given a clear election that this Government is going out despite the Prachar Babu’s slogan of India Rising,” Banerjee told in an election rally at Khargram in Murshidabad comparing Modi with former Prime Minister Atal Behari Vajpayee.

“Vajpayee ji was a good man and did not exhibit this conceit … even he tried to win by giving the India Shinning slogan but failed … so the people of India has taken cognizance of all the misdeeds of this Government … they will surely punish them … which is indicative from the first two phases of the elections,” Banerjee whose own Government has been hit by a whole number of issues including corruption, falling law and order, employment scam etc said.

“Can you hear what the people are saying … can you hear what Bihar is saying, what Uttar Pradesh is saying, what Rajasthan is saying … the voting trend in all these States has started sending shivers down the BJP’s spine … they are trembling now because of their own policies and arrogance … the people have already started giving them the reply,” the Chief Minister said.

Referring to massive rise in medicine prices and the Centre blocking Bengal’s lawful funds, Banerjee said “the Modi Government has done nothing about the rising medicine prices … even the prices of the essential medicines have gone up … then they have blocked the lawful MNREGA and housing funds … now the people will block them,” adding how “they have been trying to divide the people in the name of religion, caste and culture to win votes.”

She said, the BJP was imposing Citizenship Amendment Act, National Register for Citizens and Uniform Civil Code. “Do you know that CAA, NRC and UCC mean … these mean division of people on caste, religion and culture … these mean detention camps,” she said. Calling the BJP a party of anti-social elements Banerjee said, “the BJP is a party of thieves and smugglers who are anti-people, anti-dalit, anti-minority, anti-Muslim, anti-Hindu, anti-Christian, anti-OBC … they will not let the people to live peacefully if they return
