Cong holds ‘Satygrah’ against Agneepath in all Assembly constituencies

Tuesday, 28 June 2022 | PNS | Ranchi

Following the instruction of the All India Congress Committee (AICC), the State Congress Committee held ‘Satygarh’ in all the Legislative Assemblies of Jharkhand on Tuesday in protest against the anti-youth Agneepath scheme.

On the direction of Congress in-charge Avinash Pandey, all the prominent leaders including former Union Minister, Subodh Kant Sahay in Ranchi, Rural Development Minister, Alamgir Alam in Pakur State Assembly, Finance and Food Supply Minister, Dr Rameshwar Oraon in Lohardaga, Agriculture Minister, Badal in Jarmundi and Health Minister, Banna Gupta in Jamshedpur. All other MLAs and senior Congress leaders performed Satyagraha from 11.00 AM to 1.00 AM in their respective Vidhan Sabhas.

Organization Empowerment Campaign Convener, Alok Kumar Dubey did Satyagraha in front of Mahatma Gandhi statue at Gumla Indoor Stadium.

Addressing the gathering in the State Capital, Sahay asked what will be the work for the youth who come in the role of ex-servicemen after serving for four years. “The number of unemployed youth in this Country will be long. A civil war-like situation is brewing in the Country. Democracy as a whole is being blown away,” he added. He said that for the first time, the Modi Government is politicising the army by pushing it forward to get the unwise decision made, which is very dangerous for the Country and it is not in the National interest. He said that to save the future of youth, Constitution, democracy and secularism of the Country, Congress has been continuously fighting through Satyagraha.

While addressing the people gathered to protest against the recruitment scheme in Lohardaga, Oraon said that the law that the Central Government has brought for the youth, Agneepath, is the law to make the youth unemployed. “Being the youth of the Country, after about 6 years of hard work with passion, all the youth join the Indian Army for their dreams so that they can protect the Country, but the Modi Government at the center has given the youth four year to serve Army and Country. But the law of recruitment that has been brought will definitely work to break the enthusiasm and passion of the youth of the Country, somewhere the responsibility of the Country lies on the shoulders of the youth of the Country,” he added.

Addressing the people gathered on the occasion in Gumla, Dubey said that the decision of Agneepath is an unwise decision without any thought, the party demands from Prime Minister, Narendra Modi that the Agneepath scheme should be withdrawn immediately. He said that if this decision was of the army, then those whose nomination forms were filled three years ago, they would have been first told that they will not be tested, and have to come to Agneepath. He said that BJP ministers or spokespersons who say that the Agneepath scheme is good, should employ their sons and daughters in Agneepath, if the sons and daughters of these leaders are secretaries in the cricket board, if someone's son came from America after studying. Yes, he should be given a job in Agneepath.

State Youth Congress Vice President, Nisha Bhagat said that the youth of the whole Country are angry about the Agneepath scheme, being a responsible political party, the Congress party is fully standing with the youth of the country, the party is proud of our army.
