A youth drowned while taking bath in a pond in Bhapur block in Nayagarh district on Tuesday.
The deceased was identified as Bapi Behera (24) of Bhogda village in Dhanachangada panchayat in the district.
On being informed, the Bhapur Outpost police reached the spot and took him to the Bhapur Community Health Centre (CHC) where doctors declared him brought dead.
