Giving his vision for India 2050-Vishwa Guru Bharat at auditorium of Gurukul Kangri Vishwavidyalaya on Monday, Shaurya Doval said India will emerge as a major economic and technological power from which the world will come to buy indigenously developed light combat aircrafts like Tejas. Doval is the son of National Security Adviser Ajit Doval.
He said India is on track and will emerge as $ 5 trillion economy, adding that the various economic reforms introduced by the Modi Government will surely take the country to a stronger position. On Rafale fighter jet deal, Shaurya said that it is was the technical need of India though soon India will become an exporter of technology.
In an answer to a question posed by a student on the problem of Naxalism in the country, Doval said it was a small portion of population but it did not pose a threat to 130 crore people.
Small movements like Kashmir issue and Naxalism keeps propping up but these don’t pose a major threat for India. Admitting that problems like malnutrition did exist, he added while making ideal choices, country has to decide where to invest more — in defence or other areas. Country’s security is supreme, he added.
On the breaking of social fabric in Indian families, he said India had confidence in its age-old values and virtues and it will rebuild its lost traditions in time to come as Yoga, Ayurveda and Vedic science were gaining wide popularity which was a positive sign.
He stressed on the need to strengthen judicial system in the country saying the judicial system started by British was not meant to give justice to Indians so much reforms were needed, the system needs to be stronger and not sycophant. A stronger leadership was the need of the hour which was being given by Modi. He also stressed on women empowerment by giving reservation in Indian politics stating that 50 per cent of Indian population had merely 14 per cent representation in Indian politics which was unfair. He advised the youths to take politics as a mission and not profession.
Earlier, the registrar of Gurukul Kangri Vishwavidyalaya, Dinesh Bhatt introduced Doval. VK Singh, head of Faculty of Management Studies moderated the questions from professors, students and researchers attending the talk.
