DIG: Will crack whip on betting, gambling

Strict action should be taken against the people involved and facilitating betting and gambling, selling drugs illegally. The police station in-charge and beat in-charge would be responsible to curb betting and gambling and selling of drugs in their areas, said DIG Dharmendra Choudhary during review meeting at police control room on Wednesday.

He said that the CSP and Addl SP of the area should monitor continuously.

The police station in-charges should form teams and areas prone to drugs and banned medicines use and sell should be covered by special drive and strict action should be taken against them.

The prone areas school, Colleges, hostels and colonies where these activities are reported should be visited and inspected.

The drugs addicts have to be identified and work has to be done for their rehabilitation. Action of externment should be taken in the next three days against those miscreants having past criminal record.

The review of pending cases was conducted in the meeting and instruction of review by CSP and Addl SP was given by DIG Choudhary.

The disposal of the pending cases of the year 2018 has to be disposed off on priority basis.

For curbing crimes the beat system has to function properly.

The network of informers has to be strengthened and it is important to keep eye on the movement and activities of criminals and goons of the area.

Nagar and Gram Raksha Samiti have to be made active and new members have to be added.

Penetration in every area to maintain connect with masses and gain confidence with them is important.
