Former Union minister and member of parliament from Mirzapur, Anupriya Patel, was elected national president of Apna Dal (Sonelal) here on Monday.
The announcement of Anupriya Patel’s election as party president was made after a meeting of the national convention of the Apna Dal (S) in Mirzapur.
Anupriya Patel was a Union minister in the previous Narendra Modi government but was dropped in the National Democratic Alliance’s second term.
Apna Dal (S) is a coalition partner of the Bharatiya Janata Party in Uttar Pradesh.
The party also announced the state working committee and presidents of several district units.
