1 held for stabbing friend to death during drunken brawl

A 25-year-old man was allegedly stabbed to death by his friend at North Delhi’s Kashmere Gate after a drunken argument on Sunday night at 11.20 pm. Police said the accused has been arrested.

The victim was identified as Sharad, a nephew of Delhi Police’s Multi-Tasking personnel. Sharad and his four friends were reportedly returning after having dinner and drinks at Ashok Vihar, when he got into a spat with one of his friends Harish, police said.

According to police, Sharad and Harish reportedly started abusing each other and the argument escalated when they stopped to fill petrol near a park behind old Hindu College.

In a rage, Harish allegedly went to an eatery and picked up a knife, after stabbing Sharad he fled  the scene.

Police said Sharad was immediately rushed to Bara Hindu Rao Hospital where he was declared brought dead.  The family is in shock.
