To woo the farming community in Haryana ahead of 2019 general elections, the State Government will soon roll out its Kisan Pension Scheme. A meeting of committee in this regard was held on Wednesday under Haryana MLA from Tohana and state BJP chief Subhash Barala.
After the meeting, Barala said that soon, the committee constituted for formulating the pension scheme for farmers, would submit its report to the Chief Minister Manohar Lal.
This was the second meeting of the committee.
Barala said that the committee would soon take unanimous decision for the benefit of the farmers and submit its report.
It has been decided in the meeting that Deputy Commissioners of all the districts would be directed to send the existing data of the farmers of their districts as soon as possible and send the entire data within 10 days, so that the committee can take further action on the basis of collected data, he added.
The BJP state chief also said that the committee members also deliberated over the eligible age of farmers for the scheme. As the retirement age in government sector is 58 years, we are considering having the similar criteria of 58 years age limit or may be less than that, he said.
The issues related to age limit, amount of pension, number of farmers to be covered under the scheme were discussed at the meeting, he added.
The draft preparing committee for Kisan Pension Scheme is headed by Subhash Barala with members of the committee including MLAs namely Abhay Singh Yadav, Mahipal Dhanda, Ghanshyam Das Arora, Pawan Saini and Director, Agriculture and Farmers’ Welfare Department, Ajit Balaji Joshi.
