BJP State Mahila Morcha vice-president Dr Aiswarya Biswal on Wednesday severely criticised the State Government, saying it has failed in providing safety to women at every level.
Addressing a Press meet at Sukinda, Biswal alleged that incidences of sexual violence targeted at women have increased in the State during the 19 years of BJD rule. She said the Pipili gangrape victim didn’t get justice and all accused were acquitted due to botched up investigation.
As a responsible opposition party, the BJP is seriously concerned over women’s insecurity and total collapse of law and order in the State, she said.
The State BJP under the able leadership of Dharmendra Pradhan will fight for the safety and self-respect of women through the ‘Jabab Maguchhi Odisha’ campaign and is determined to make it a people’s movement, she said.
Among others, Mandakini Sethi and Anjali Sethi were present.
