Tight security for Vidhan Sabha Session

The Uttarakhand police have made elaborate security measures for the monsoon session of State Assembly which commences from Tuesday. The Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) of Dehradun, Nivedita Kukreti held a briefing session with the police force drawn for Vidhan Sabha duty at police lines ground here on Monday.The SSP directed that all the police personnel should take complete information about their duty from their superiors. “The staff should refrain from making unnecessary comments during the session and should immediately inform the officer in charge about any dispute. The personnel deployed on the Vidhan Sabha gate should thoroughly check the visitors and permission to carry inflammable or suspicious object should not be given under any circumstances,’’ she said.

The SSP directed the staff to be deployed on route duty outside the Vidhan Sabha to ensure that no unauthorised vehicle is parked on the road outside Vidhan Sabha. On a cautious note, she added that those participating in agitation outside Vidhan Sabha should be compulsorily stopped at the barriers.

Asking the personnel to exercise maximum restraint, the SSP said that untoward incidents should be immediately informed to higher ups and the incident should be photographed and videographed. She directed the officers to ensure coordination with the staff deputed under them and asked them to properly brief the personnel under them.

The briefing was held in presence of Deputy Inspector General (DIG) Garhwal range, Ajay Rautela.

Police personnel deployed

Superintendent of Police-1, Additional SPs-4, Deputy Superintendent of Police-9, Inspectors-12, Sub Inspectors- 55, Women SI-3, Head Constables- 2, Constables-152, Women Constables-39, Tear Gas party-3, PAC- 2 companies and one and half platoon, Fire Service-2 units, QRT-3 teams.

Traffic Diversion Plan

Barriers–Pragati Vihar, Shastri Nagar, Bye Pass, Defence Colony barrier.

1 All heavy vehicles would be diverted to Doodhli road from Kargi Chowk and Doiwala.

2 Vehicles going from Dehradun to Haridwar, Rishikesh, Tehri and Chamoli would be diverted from EC Road to Nehru colony to Raipur Thano road via Pulia no 6.

3 Traffic from Dharampur Chowk to ISBT would be flow from Mata Mandir road to Old Bye Pass post.

4 The vehicles going to Mussoorie would be diverted to Ring road, Ladpur, Shastradhara crossing to IT Park from Mokhumpur.

5 All processions should compulsorily start form Bannu school ground. On start of any procession the traffic from Rispana Bridge would be asked to proceed on Haridwar bye pass road.

6 The city buses plying from Doiwala to Dehradun would be diverted from Jogiwala to ring road.

7 The commercial vehicles heading to Defence colony would be diverted to old Bye pass post from Nehru colony police station cut but private vehicles would be diverted only in exceptional circumstances.
