Members of the Save Constitution team were given a grand reception at the Lohia Academy here on Thursday morning.
The team, which started its mission at Dandi in Gujarat on Gandhi Jayanti on October 2, is scheduled to reach Delhi on December 10 where thousands of people from all parts of the country will join.
The reception meeting was chaired by noted mathematician Prof Swadhin Pattnaik. Members described how Constitutional norms are grossly violated by the Narendra Modi Government at the Centre and the Naveen Patnaik Government in the State.
They alleged that the Centre along with some State Goverments, inlucding Odisha and Bihar, has conspired to destruct the basic secular democratic fabric of the country. They also alleged that Constitutional Government institutions and education systems have been paralysed and natural resources like forests, water and minerals destroyed.
Team leaders like Gabriele Dietrich, Penn Urimay Lyakkam, Raj Kishore, Rajendra Ravi, Suhas Kolhekar, Bhupendra Singh Rawat, Kusumam Joseph, Priya Pillai, Meera Sanghamitra, Rohit, Aran, Akshit Guhaar, Aman Guhaar, Yuvraj Ghatkal, Madhusudan, Prafulla Samantara were felicitated by Radhakanta Sethi, Deba Mohapatra, Debiprasad Prusti, Sudhir Pattnaik Bighnaraj, Sujata Mohapatra Manorama Khatua and Dhirendra Panda.
