Election Commission of India will felicitate media houses with National Media Award-2018 for promoting and creating awareness among the electors. It has sought the entries by November 30, 2018.
In a letter issued by EC, media groups can apply in 4 categories. The award is for four categories, Print Media, Television (Electronic), Radio (Electronic) and online (Internet)/Social Media. One award would be given to single category.
The application should carry clear-cut efforts on creating awareness and promotion, need/importance of using the franchise and the relevance of voting.
Application should have clarity on details of works and drives undertaken by the media organisation for voters’ awareness. The judges’ panel would shortlist the entries. The award would be given away on January 25, National Voter’s Day (2019).
