The famous historical and religious Kapal Mochan-Adi-Badri Mela will be held from November 19 to 24 on the eve of Kartik Purnima at Bilaspur.

About seven lakh pilgrims will take a holy dip on the pious sarovars in Yamunanagar, on that day, said an official spokesman.

He said that the district Yamunanagar has many important religious, holy and historically important places. Therefore, it attracts a large number of pilgrims and tourists throughout the year.

One of the well-known fairs is Kapal Mochan that is held on the last five days of Kartik Purnima in which people come from various parts of Northern India including Hindus, Sikhs and people of other religious communities, who take a holy dip for Moksha, the spokesman said.

He further said that the district Yamunanagar is situated in the lap of nature where Yamuna River enters the plains from the Shivalik Range of lower Himalayas. It is covered by a dense forest of Kalesar and Holy River Saraswati crisscrosses it from Adi-Badri and flows towards Kurukshetra and Pehowa.

District Yamunanagar is surrounded by Uttar Pradesh, Himachal Pradesh, Uttrakhand and attached with other districts like Karnal, Kurukshetra, Ambala. The district is well connected by road and railways with most of the towns and cities of Northern India, he said.

In the ancient forest area near Bilaspur about 25 Kms. from Yamunanagar, Kapal Mochan is an ancient and religious place symbolising the unity and integrity of the people of different classes, castes and religion, the spokesman said.
