C’garh’s new CM to take oath on Dec 17

The oath taking ceremony for the newly appointed Chief Minister of Chhattisgarh will be held on Monday at Science college ground in Raipur from 4.30 pm, All India Congress Committee (AICC) General Secretary and party’s In-charge of Chhattisgarh P L Punia informed on Saturday.

Chhattisgarh Governor Anandiben Patel will administer oath of office and secrecy to the newly appointed Chief Minister.

Meanwhile, at Science College ground, the preparations for oath taking ceremony are going on in full swing.

Raipur City Mayor Pramod Dubey, Chief Secretary Ajay Singh, Raipur District Collector Dr Basavaraju S and other senior officials are regularly inspecting the venue to ensure adequate security and better seating arrangements for the dignitaries and the general public.

Three stages will be erected at the venue-one for oath taking ceremony, second for VVIPs and third for the newly elected Members of Legislative Assembly. LED screens will be installed at the venue at different points so that maximum outreach of event is ensured.

Already, the traffic plan has been released for the public in view of the ceremony as key national political leaders and VIPs are expected to arrive to participate in the event.

As per the traffic plan, the whole area has been divided into four sectors to facilitate movement of VVIP, VIP, Ministers and general public.

For VIP route to the oath ceremony from Ring Road Number one to upper part of Raipura Bridge and then U-turn to Rohanipuram new road to Gol Chowk to Science college ground.

For the general public, the route is Ring Road Number one to Sarona bridge, near Toyata showroom to Amanaka Police station road to Kanger Valley Academy School to NCC ground for parking. They will then have to walk to the Science College ground.

During the oath ceremony, the movement of heavy vehicles in Ring Road 1 and Ring Road 2, had been banned. The vehicles moving from the GE Road Raipur to Durg-Bhilai will be diverted to Ring Road Number one to Pachpedi Chowk to Kalibadi-Shastri Chowk to Pandari Bus-Stand.

With Congress returning to power after 15 years, it is likely that there will be rush of party leaders and workers from different parts of State to participate in the oath taking ceremony. Additional to it the supporters of leaders will also rush to be with their leaders during the ceremony.
