The Anti-caste Marriage and One-child Family Organisation of India(AMOFOI) celebrated its 38th anniversary under chairmanship of Freethought Party of India president Dr Bijayananda Kar here on Tuesday.
Political analyst Prof Bijay Bohidar attending as chief guest released the AMOFOI book, “Freedom of Speech and Expression: Yes, Government Servants Can Freely Criticise Government Policies”. He pleaded for the introduction a well designed quality educational system throughout the country for removal of inequality and human indignity.
Dr KP Padhy, a political scientist, called upon well-educated and ethically committed good people to enter politics so as to effect worthwhile changes in the socioeconomic policies of the country.
AMOFOI founder-secretary B Ramchandra CST Voltaire explained at length the three prerequisites of comprehensive enjoyment of human rights, existence of priest-less love marriage offices at gram panchayat level, prayer-less quality English medium education for children and presence of the German brand of mixed PR system of election.
Poet Dr Banamali Bari k read out his poem “Manabika Adhikar” and Swapna Bijayini presented a paper in Odia on the existence and status of human rights in Great Britain.
Among others, woman leader Basanti Acharya, Humanist Rationalist Organisation of Odisha president Prof Dhaneswar Sahoo, and Dr Biswajit presented valuable suggestions for bettering the status of human rights in India. AMOFOI president Dr Baikunthanath Sethi was honoured on the occasion.
