Tuesday, 07 May 2024 | PNS | Jamshedpur

In a momentous occasion marking the commencement of the electoral process, the first voter exercised their franchise through a postal ballot at the polling station established within the Sub-Divisional Officer (SDO) office premises. District Election Officer, Ananya Mittal, oversaw the proceedings, ensuring that the election process unfolded smoothly and adhered to the principles of fairness and transparency.

Accompanied by Deputy Development Commissioner Manish Kumar, Project Director of Integrated Tribal Development Agency (PD ITDA) Dipankar Chaudhary, and other officials, Ananya Mittal conducted a thorough inspection of the polling station. She provided necessary instructions to election personnel to ensure the integrity of the electoral process and to address any potential challenges that may arise during the voting period.

As a gesture of appreciation for being the first voter in this crucial electoral exercise, the individual was presented with flowers, symbolizing the significance of their participation in shaping the democratic process.

The presence of esteemed officials underscores the commitment of the administration to uphold the democratic values and principles of free and fair elections. Their vigilance and proactive measures aim to facilitate a conducive environment for voters to exercise their right to vote without any hindrance or coercion.

The electoral drive, which commenced with the casting of the first postal ballot, is set to continue until May 10, providing ample time for eligible voters to participate in the democratic process and contribute to the selection of their representatives.

As the electoral machinery gears up for the forthcoming elections, the administration remains dedicated to ensuring that every voter's voice is heard and that the electoral process reflects the true spirit of democracy.

Voting will continue from 9 am in the postal ballot polling center built at SDO office, Dhalbhum. Voters of districts of fourth phase Lok Sabha Parliamentary area are using their franchise.
