Advisory issued for stress management

Wednesday, 01 May 2024 | Staff Reporter | KORBA

Ahead of the declaration of examination results, the Korba administration in Chhattisgarh issued an advisory on Tuesday for stress management among children.

They did this in a meeting with principals of all the higher secondary schools in the district.

Stress is a natural process before results are announced that can lead to depression in children.

Collector Ajit Vasant directed District Education Officer T.P. Upadhyay to develop a detailed action plan for stress management.

He urged the guardians and teachers to prepare an uplifting atmosphere. He told them to inspire the children for a bright future by giving positive examples from the society.

He emphasized that collective efforts are needed to ensure that no child resorts to any extreme measure due to stress.

The Chhattisgarh Board of Secondary Education has asked the guardians to look out for these symptoms of stress in children: being silent, isolating themselves, loss of focus, irritability, and loss of appetite. Based on this information, proper consultation should be ensured.

The board has also issued the toll-free number 18002334363 for stress management consultation, which will provide its services from May 1 to 15 from 10:30 a.m. to 5 p.m.
